Some time ago it was reported that two leading automakers, Toyota and Daihatsu rekindled their partnership to release two new products this year. The car was named Toyota Agya (Agia) and Daihatsu Alya.
The two candidates for new low-cost car in Indonesia is the third product of the Toyota-Daihatsu after Avanza-Xenia and Terios-Rush. Daihatsu and Toyota reportedly will launch low-cost car in Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) on 20 September.
The new cheap city-car will be made ​​by Daihatsu and use the new 1,000 cc engine, with a capacity of 4 +1 passengers. For the Indonesian market, Toyota set up two main models, automatic and manual transmissions.
Toyota Agya and Daihatsu Alya made ​​under government programs on Low Cost Green Car (LCGC), so hopefully will get special incentives from the government. No wonder if the price can be very cheap and affordable. For the price, the two cars will be sold for less than IDR 100 million.
